Five Keys to Enhance Your Personal Magnetism

Five Keys to Enhance Your Personal Magnetism

One of my favorite books in my success library is Napoleon Hill’s Think and Grow Rich.  Even though it was written in the 1920s, the principles he taught are still absolutely valid today.  What appeals to me from this book is that – and I talk about this often – when you have an awareness of what you are doing, your consciousness shifts.  And when you are able to shift your consciousness, you’ll take different actions that will lead to different results.  Today, I want to focus on my take-aways from just one chapter of this book, and give you the five keys to enhance your personal magnetism.

This chapter talks about the “transmutation of sex energy”.  We aren’t talking about sex here, we’re talking about sex energy – and there’s a big difference.

Sex energy is your mojo.  It’s your life force.  It’s chi, qi, prana – whatever word you choose in your vocabulary.  It’s all the same thing – the energy behind everything in life.  Once you become aware of it and learn how to direct it, you can then shift your outcomes and how your life unfolds for you. Here are just five keys that will help you with that shift and enhance your personal magnetism:

  1. Your Handshake. Yes, the first key to your personal magnetism is your handshake.  Even though this was written in the early 1920s when things were a little more formal, your handshake still says a lot about you.  It’s the first key to your personal magnetism because people can feel you.  The palms of your hands are massive energy receptors and energy projectors.  Your handshake can speak volumes.  We’ve all experienced it, whether it’s the weak, limp, wet-rag handshake that conveys a lack of confidence and trust, or the gripper handshake where they’re squeezing the life out of you, conveying a need for total dominance or control, we get a good idea of who we are dealing with simply from shaking hands.

The best handshake is somewhere in the middle.  This doesn’t mean that you are average.  What it means is that you are comfortable in your own skin.  It conveys that you are glad to meet the other person.  It gives a sense of your own power, a sense of your mojo and it gives a sense of openness to actually connect with you.

  1. Tone of voice. The second key to your personal magnetism is the way that you use your voice.  With this key, I want to talk about the different qualities of energy, which we divvy up into two areas:  masculine energy and feminine energy.  This isn’t about gender at all.  It’s about the qualities associated with the energy.  Masculine energy is very active, more linear, very matter-of-fact.  Feminine energy, on the other hand, is more spacious, rounder, and non-linear.  There’s more animation to feminine energy.  When we’re talking about your tone of voice, you need to play with both.  Depending on the situation you are in – whether for business, on a date or with your lover – start playing with different tones of your voice, the cadence and rhythm of your voice, and determine what works best in different situations.
  2. Body Posture. Whether you call it body posture or body language, the way that you carry yourself speaks volumes – without even saying a word.  For example, if you scrunch over and your body starts to cave in, your energy is going to sink and you aren’t going to convey confidence.  If, on the other hand, you stand up straight, roll your shoulders back and have good posture, your personal magnetism will shine through.  We’ve all seen this when someone enters and moves around a room.  It’s connected to your mojo, your personal magnetism.  Becoming aware of how you walk, how you carry yourself can make a huge difference in how others see and respond to you.
  3. Body Adornment. In today’s vernacular, this would be defined as fashion, your style, the way you would express yourself outside.  It’s your clothing and jewelry, your hairstyle, the makeup you wear, and even your tattoos.  It’s how you express yourself to the world.  And it can change depending on the different roles you play – whether in business, with friends and family or in other situations.  Take some time to try on different styles.  Notice how they change your energy, the way that you move, the way that you speak, and the way that you take up space (or don’t).  It’s all about your own confidence and your own mojo.
  4. Vibrations of Thought. As we said at the outset, everything is energy.  Energy is in constant motion.  It can shift and be maneuvered and played with.  This includes your thoughts.  Your thoughts have an energy to them – a vibration.  Your thoughts will become the words that you speak and those words will be come the actions that you take (or don’t take).  This key is about becoming skillful at directing those vibrations of thought.  We’ve all seen it and been around people who exude positive energy because of their positive thoughts.  And we’ve been around those who are critical and complainers who are lowering your vibrations.  Which would you prefer to be around and which would you prefer to be yourself?

I hope that these five keys will help you develop your own personal magnetism.  This is just a taste of what we discussed in this Mojo Moments series.  If you would like access to all the videos in this series and other Mojo Moment videos, stay tuned because we’ve got something REALLY MOJOLICIOUS coming for you. 🙂
