How to Maintain Your Mojo on the Road, Part 2

Gong Hee Fat Choy!

Today marks the beginning of the ‘other’ New Year—The Chinese New Year of the Sheep.

I love the Chinese New Year. It’s based on the Lunar calendar – and as a woman, I feel very connected to her rhythms and phases.

It’s super festive…lots of color, food, noise and there’s lots of tradition around it.

Celebrations go on for 15 days AND it’s another chance to start the year with clarity and intention.

For the past few years including this one, I’ve been fortunate to celebrate this occasion with a group of dynamic, take-no-prisoners, knockin’ em alive entrepreneurs in a city away from my home town of Los Angeles.

It just so happened that our conferences were scheduled over the course of Chinese New Year…which meant my suitcase was full of extra mojo!

Of course, I always travel with environment mojo any time I take a trip. Environment relates to the fourth pillar of the M.O.J.O system, the Oasis based on my 17+ years as a professional Feng Shui consultant.

But these recent years on Chinese New Year, I’ve had New Year’s paraphernalia to share with about 60 other people (and yup, the TSA got suspicious of the half a bag full of tangerines).

What does this mean for all of you travelers out there?
I’m about to let you in on some of the key tips to maintain your mojo while on the road.

These are simple and easy tricks to turn a hotel room into a powerful source of support for you, instead of an anonymous place to lay your head.

Mojo Tip No. 1
Stop the Drain.

You notice that the bathrooms of most every hotel room are right by the front door of the room? Well, this is bad news because most people leave the bathroom door open. And an open bathroom door right by the entrance of the room means that any sliver of vital energy (ahem, mojo) gets sucked down the toilet before it even has a fighting chance to fill up the rest of the room.

Bottom line—keep the bathroom door closed when you’re done using it.

Mojo Tip No. 2
Freshen Up.

It’s a rare occasion that you’ll find a hotel room where you can open a window these days. That translates to a lot of stale, recycled and potentially toxic air for you to breathe (think about all the cleaning chemicals, the air vents, dust, other people’s energy).

My favorite thing to do is pack an aromatherapy room spray and spritz it all over the room as soon as I get there. The essential oils in the spray not only smell good, many of them are antibacterial.

Spray the perimeter of the room and make sure to get the pillows and bedding too. I use one’s from Blue Moon Elise or you can make your own.

Mojo Tip No. 3
Add Sparkle.

I never, ever, ever, EVER travel somewhere overnight without a Blessings Crystal and extra string to hang it. This is like having a psychic security guard watching over you wherever you are.

AND it helps keep you balanced, clear focused and full of energy. Honestly, hang it wherever you can. A few spots mine have graced are: bedside lamp, air vents, sprinkler head, beams and overhead lights.

These are just some of the things you can do when you’re on the road.

HOWEVER, what’s key is to make sure your home and office are in tip top mojo shape to support you in creating a life full of the money, honey and health you desire.

Because your home and office are your mothership. Wherever you travel to, you’re still tethered to them and therefore they affect everything and everywhere you go.

Now it’s your turn. What tip will you make sure to implement on your next trip?
